Feeding Hunger: San Francisco–The Results Are In!
Almost everything you’ll read here on The Menuism Blog involves food–the delicious, the strange, the celebrated. Today I want to address the necessity of food. In January, we teamed up with the San Francisco Food Bank on a project called Feeding Hunger. This week, I had the opportunity–along with Menuism founders Justin Chen and John Li, pictured above–to tour the massive 55,000-square-foot warehouse of the San Francisco Food Bank, where we learned just how much work goes into feeding our hungry neighbors. We spied rows and rows of fresh produce, which accounts for more than half of all the food distributed.
With your help, over six weeks, we raised enough money to provide an astounding 15,000 meals to the hungry in San Francisco and Marin via the San Francisco Food Bank! Thank you. We couldn’t have done it without you.

Happy Eating!

P.S. The San Francisco Food Bank is one of the most efficient food banks in the US, with .97 cents on every dollar going directly toward feeding the hungry. Like most hunger eradication organizations, they rely on volunteers for help maintaining their excellent standards.
