Feeding Hunger
At Menuism, we celebrate food every day. Food is an integral part of our culture. And we depend on it to nourish body, mind and soul.
We live in a world of plenty and we believe that it is our responsibility to share our good fortune with those who are less fortunate. No one should go hungry when there is an abundance of food, and resources to help those in need.
Menuism is dedicated to giving back to the most valuable resource of all: people. We work hand-in-hand with local food banks to feed the hungry in the communities that sustain us.
San Francisco Food Bank

In January 2011, Menuism teamed up with the San Francisco Food Bank on a project called Feeding Hunger: San Francisco. Our friends at the food bank taught us about the face of hunger in the Bay Area, and in return, Menuism donated the equivalent of 15,000 meals on behalf of you, our lovely readers.
Vital Stats: The San Francisco Food Bank serves nearly 200,000 people and distributes 43.5 million pounds of food annually.
Did you know? On average, the San Francisco Food Bank’s warehouse houses about 2 million pounds of food! The food bank tells us that cereal is one of the most popular items among hungry families.
Greater Chicago Food Depository

In March, we partnered with the Greater Chicago Food Depository for Feeding Hunger: Chicago. Chicago’s Food Bank works with more than 650 local partners and is responsible for more than a dozen vital programs. In terms of number of people served, the Food Depository is one of the largest city food banks in the US. The people who work and volunteer at the food bank and in its many programs are a true inspiration.
Vital Stats: The Greater Chicago Food Depository serves 678,00 people every year. Nearly 40 percent of those served are children under 18.
Did you know? Fresh fruit and vegetables comprise more than 25 percent of all food distributed by the Greater Chicago Food Depository. The Food Depository emphasizes high quality, nutritional foods and operates numerous programs for kids and seniors.
We are grateful for your support!
