From our offices to your living rooms to restaurant dining rooms across the US and Canada, our passionate community of foodies extends far beyond Menuism HQ. We know that you love eating just as much as we do. Although we celebrate food every day, this recent holiday season reminded us, once again, of how very grateful we are for the abundance of food in our lives. Not everyone is as fortunate.

Did you know that nearly a quarter of a million people in San Francisco and Marin struggle to feed themselves and their families every day? But thanks to the valiant efforts of the San Francisco Food Bank, the individuals and families who are in the greatest need are able to put healthy food on the table.

The San Francisco Food Bank rescues wholesome food from a variety of sources—growers, manufacturers, grocery stores and more—and distributes it to the hungry via neighborhood food pantries and through its partner network of more than 400 local nonprofit organizations, which includes some of the City’s largest meal programs. This year alone, the San Francisco Food Bank plans to distribute more than 41.5 million pounds of food to the hungry!

Our New Year’s Resolution—But We Need Your Help!

We are proud to announce one of our most inspired (if we do say so ourselves) New Year’s resolutions to date. As you might expect, it’s all about FOOD! Menuism has pledged to help the San Francisco Food Bank reach its goal of easing hunger in San Francisco and Marin in 2011. We don’t believe anyone should go hungry in an environment of plenty.

Here’s how you can help: “Like” Menuism on Facebook and we’ll donate $1 to the San Francisco Food Bank. If you already like us (thank you! We like you, too!), please help us spread the word. Every dollar raised provides $6 worth of food to the hungry, and every $10 raised provides enough food for 30 meals. With your support, we can help the San Francisco Food Bank fill hungry bellies with wholesome, healthful foods. Learn more about our Feeding Hunger campaign here.

Happy Eating!

Presently in the U.S it is illegal to feed the

homeless and hungry. We must mandate federal

laws making it illegal NOT to share food. FOOD IS

TOO PRECIOUS OF A COMMODITY TO BE THROWN

AWAY. Please sign may petition at change.org
