Congratulations to Geraldo aka nexus976 for submitting the winning review for the September Menuism Restaurant Review Contest!  His posting about Pizzarelli’s Pizza and Pasta in his home state of Rhode Island was simply fabulous.  It’s chocked full of detail and information and really gives the reader a great idea of what dining at this local pizza joint would be like.   To read Geraldo’s review, click here. My name is Geraldo and I live in Rhode Island. I work in IT and, like many of you, try to enjoy great food no matter where I am. I also enjoy replicating those great food experiences at home via sharpening my cooking
skills – for better or worse ; ).

Ive really gotten into thoroughly enjoying my restaurant experiences. From New American, Thai, Japanese, and Spanish all the way to French, Chinese, Fusion… anything! So many different cuisines, and they all have something good to offer!

I have been to many wonderful restaurants, but if I had to have a list for my favorite 3 that linger in my mind at the moment, it would be “Morimoto” in Philadelphia (Freshest Sushi Ever!), “DB Bistro” in NYC (Amazing duck confit and great service) and Rays Hawaiian Fusion in Florida (Delicate and perfect tempura)

If i’ve learned anything from my experiences, it’s to loosen my expectations and preconceptions of all cuisine. Expensive food at a “fancy” restaurant does not always equal a great dinner, while a cheap, deep fried snack from a crusty old food cart can taste better than anything you’ve ever had. For me, thats what makes dining out so different and satisfying everytime!
