Editor’s Note: Sure, it’s easy enough to open a bottle of wine, but if you want to learn the proper technique, then this is the how-to video for you! Etty demonstrates how to open a bottle of wine like the pros do with this step-by-step guide. You’ll also learn which wines need decanting and why, and how decanting enhances the experience of drinking the wine. So watch and learn, and be prepared to impress at your next dinner party. Cheers!

P.S. What wine-opening tips or tools do you swear by?

You know I always use the rabbit and those electronic wine openers, spend so much money on them and they always break.  I will definitely get one of those smaller waiter corkscrews to keep it more simple and easier on the wallet.  If I can open bottles like Etty did in her video, I’ll be good to go!

I’ve always had a problem with the waiter type corkscrews. Thanks for the demo.

Great demo. I bought one of those waiter corkscrews recently and now I know what to do with the second hinge. Thanks!

I’ve got both a rabbit corkscrew and pressurized CO2 bottle opener and the one I use the most is the simple waiter one.
