I think it should have been mentioned in the very beginning that separate bills were desired. This would have totally alleviated the problem. I do agree that the staff should have handled it in a kinder manner.
I find it interesting that you got sick eating two cooked items – that sounds like a personal problem, not anything to do with the quality of the food. Why do you keep going back if you know you are going to get sick anyway?

Absolutely agree on the “arrogance” comment. We had dinner at Laceno’s a few years ago and experienced the worse service ever. They were rushing us so much that the waiters were taking our dishes with the food on them without asking us if had finished eating. After we complained, we just got “if you do not like it, do not come here anymore”. We are following the above and telling everybody to stay away!
