Carl LaManna’s passion for good food and close family led him to create a new and exciting venue in Downtown Point Pleasant Beach where friends & family could gather. His vision was to build a first-class restaurant and bar in the heart of downtown Point Pleasant Beach, which at that time was not a permitted use. Despite the obstacles, he was able to obtain a Broad C liquor license without an approved site and then acquired 2 buildings downtown where he created an architecturally stunning space where people could partake in some of the best food and drink the Shore has to offer. He had the talent, the know-how, and the team set in place with his construction company to get the job done, and his marina put him in direct contact with purveyors of the freshest and highest quality ingredients for freshest food his restaurant would serve. Carl’s children: Michael, Megan, Carly and Ava Jade, share his passion for the ocean, and spend time with him here in Jersey and in South Beach. For the past 20 years Carl has spent much of his time deep-sea fishing the Florida Keys, Bahamas, Cuba & Puerto Rico. His is an avid sports fisherman of Tuna, Marlin, Swordfish, Mahi, Wahoo, Mako, and some of his trophy catches adorn the dining room walls of 709. Carl also enjoys lobster and conch diving, and while fishing and diving are his ultimate passion, he also loves skiing, photography and travel. (And architecture of course!)

At Beach Tavern, our menu is designed to appeal to both traditional and adventurous tastes. The common theme across all of our dishes is uncompromising commitment to technique and flavor that will leave you raving about your meal for days to come. We take fresh seriously. Chef Paul and his team take pride in offering menu selections that are house-made, from scratch, with top ingredients hand-selected and delivered daily. While certain staples will appear on the menu year-round, daily specials will offer a taste of the season, such as light mint and spring pea risotto or a hearty winter squash soup. Your Beach Tavern dining experience starts with warm sourdough bread from the acclaimed Balthazar Bakery in New York City. Your appetizer and salad options range from the familiar (classic buffalo wings and Cesar salad) to the more colorful (tuna tartar with intricate Japanese flavors). If you like your appetizer on the half-shell, you are in luck! Our raw bar is one of very few in the area and we keep it fully stocked with East and West Coast selections of shellfish like oysters, crab, shrimp and clams. All of our pasta dishes feature fresh noodles that are made in-house by hand daily. Beach Tavern is home to an Italian Arcobaleno brand pasta machine. It features brass extruders that give our pasta a rough, rustic texture perfect for absorbing our delicious sauces. One bite and you will swear someone’s Italian grandmother bestowed these recipes on us! The main dishes are a collection of Chef Paul’s favorite things to cook and serve. Flavorful chicken, pork, vegetable and dashi stocks form the foundation of most entrées. All of our proteins are of the highest quality and sourced from specialized purveyors with decades of experience in the industry. We received deliveries of fresh seafood daily. Our steaks are all Angus and/or dry-aged. We only serve hormone and antibiotic-free chicken. Our burger is a custom blend of sirloin, short rib and brisket.

Birravino is a new restaurant concept created by Vic Rallo, host of Eat! Drink! Italy! on Create TV. Vic's passion drives the concept behind Birravino. It is the notion of materia prima; the prime ingredient. In Italy, each item on the table is very important to the dining experience. Birravino will bring materia prima to each of its tables in Red Bank, New Jersey. The menu will consist of smaller portions similar to those found in Italy, allowing customers to experience more of the flavors of Italy at a very reasonable price. The Birravino wine list will consist of over 100 selections from the major wine producing regions of Italy. It is Vic’s belief that wine should be on every table as it is in Italy.

A Little Bit of Italy on the Jersey ShoreWith commentary from Rick Piancone, Owner/Operator of Johnny Piancone’s in Long Branch, New Jersey In 1955, two brothers changed the way the New Jersey Shore viewed Italian Cuisine. Louis and John Piancone found a spot in Bradley Beach to open a deli. The deli grew into an Italian Specialties shop and bakery that became the go-to destination for all things Italian down the shore. By 1991, after almost 40 years and a second generation, John and his four children – Rick, Chip, Donna, and Anna – opened a family restaurant adjacent to the deli. They named it La Nonna Piancone’s Café, to commemorate their family’s matriarch.

"Vincent Petruzziello, owner/operator, and his business partner, Larry Leming, took over ownership of Mr. Shrimp in November of 2001 at the original location on Route 35 in Wall, NJ. They brought a new look and resurgence to the Jersey Shore landmark. Mr. Petruzziello had previously managed restaurants, including seafood restaurants, before taking full time operational duties of Mr. Shrimp. Mr. Leming, a veteran of the Jersey Shore restaurant scene, brought twenty plus years of seafood restaurant experience to Mr. Shrimp.
