Foget Bland!

With a subscription at Intiman Theater in Seattle we are always trying out new restaurants, my husband is an avid fact checker and read one review of 10 Mercer that said the food was good but bland. My husband does not do bland! Anyway, I persuaded him to try it on Saturday.
The food was wonderful. tasty and delightfully plated. The staff were attentive, asked us if we were seeing a show and knew the start time for each. The $25 three course special was so reasonable and the wine choice my server suggested was perfect for the meal I ordered. The maitre’d or owner, don’t know which, came over and checked on our enjoyment of the meal and asked if we needed anything at all. I recommend this restaurant highly for the food and the service were perfection.

Dishes I tried:

Great spicy prep full of scallops and prawns in a wonderful hominy thickened soup.

Wonderful fresh greens with small slices of grilled pear and pink grapefruit, candied nuts and a Stilton vinaigrette. Very tasty start.

A perfectly cooked halibut fillet atop a medley of fresh vegetables and Udon noodles amid a fragrant broth. Light, but filling for a summer’s eve.

My German rooted husband loved this dish, the pork was tender and flavorful and he raved about the spaetzle, a little heavy for me put perfect for a meat and potato loving guy.

As part of our 3 course meal we both enjoyed dessert. I had the custard which was a creamier version of Creme brulee with a burnt sugar crust. He had the profiteroles with vanilla ice cream. A sweet ending to a most enjoyable meal.
