This is probably biased, since I'm not a bbq...
This is probably biased, since I’m not a bbq person. I came here with a friend for dinner on a week night and we had bbq chicken (free range), an appetizer portion of rice and beans and caesar salad. The best thing was beans from rice and beans, they were prepared nicely with nice flavor. Caesar salad was swimming in dressing and thus heavy. Chicken was good and tender, but since I didn’t eat the skin, bland without a bbq sauce, but the sauce was your typical sweet bbq sauce, and I don’t like sweet bbq sauce. We didn’t even try coleslaw that came with it, since it didn’t look very appetizing. The service was okay. I don’t think I’ll come back though.
great bbq + pretty okay sides
i came here for meal — it was good, and definitely a place i’d go to again. the bbq (i had ribs) was SUPER, but the sides that we ordered (chili, hush puppies and fries) were less than super (but still pretty good). hence the three stars :)
more notes: it was a weeknight, so not too busy, but the service was really attentive and friendly. the ambience is pretty nice… we were seated in the “cow room” (where all the booths are upholstered in cow-print suede). the restaurant is pretty large too (and takes reservations), so it might be a cool place to have a big dinner get together or something!
-
st. louis ribs (full rack)
i loved it! meat was flavorful, tender and fell off the bone…
-
texas style chili
i didn’t really like the flavor of the chili (there seemed to be some strange spices used) but eaten with the french fries, it was pretty good :)
