I read a lot of the reviews before hitting Bittersweet, so maybe it helped that my expectations were low: I loved it! The macaroons are incredible, and the pecan tartlett is fab.

stunning displays, cute selections

3.5 stars. when i first walked into bittersweet, i was knocked off my feet by the gorgeous display of pastries & cakes—they have a long glass display case of all the cookies, pastries, tarts, and cakes to tempt you with. but…i have to agree with hk123 in that they’re absolutely beautiful to look at, but when it comes to taste they don’t punch the expected pack. don’t get me wrong, they’re yummy, just not as good as you might expect given how delectable they look.

still, i wouldn’t hesitate to come back if i were in the area. they have bite-size free samples as you walk in the door!

What I ate:
  • ****

light, fluffy, chocolatey. good stuff if you’re a fan of chocolate.

  • **

i’m a sugar cookie snob, so this cookie didn’t live up to my high expectations. a little crunchy and blah tasting.

  • *****

bigger than the chocolate macaroon, i actually really liked the tartness of this dessert. i’d have gotten two

terrible taste but pretty presentation

everything “looks” tasty but when you go to eat it’s not that great. i got 3 different tarts, 2 types of tea bread, 3-4 cookies, a piece of cake, and brownies. None of them stood out. The tarts and brownies were too sweet and the rest didn’t stand out.
