Like a vegan McDonald's!

I stopped in at Veggie Bite for a vegan milkshake after a big dinner on the South Side. The milkshake was absolutely delicious. The best part? I paid for a small, but the teenage girl behind the counter gave me a large “because they had run out of small cups.” Girl, you serious? Talk about amazing customer service.

Here’s the deal: you want to know about food, look at the website to the left. They serve vegan cheese fries, cheeseburgers, Italian beef, so scoff if you’re a close-minded omnivore but if you’re vegetarian, it’s worth making the trek down to the South Side just to support them. They have a really nice outdoor patio, too – which is what you’re going to want to use, because the inside of the place is super dive-y. Next time I’m in Mount Greenwood hanging with the Irish, I’ll be making a stop.

What I ate:

Get the cookie dough – although there’s a strong case to be made for the chocolate shake, too, ‘cause they use chocolate soy milk to mix it so it’s extra-creamy and chocolate-y.
