Awesome fancy and fast food. It’s basically a small shack that has 2 picnic tables outside. Everything comes in a takeout box so it’s great for grabbing food for a picnic. Pretty much everything I had there was good and the lunch prices seem more reasonable than dinner. I’d definitely go back next time I’m in the area.
delicious gourmet takeout
just as previous reviewers have stated, gregoire offers delicious gourmet takeout on the northside of the berkeley campus. i’m told the menu changes each month – which could only entice me to make more regular visits…but alas, i don’t live in the berkeley area anymore. i can only encourage others to visit and see for themselves.

Crispy potato puffs
i’m usually not a big potato fan, but i actually enjoyed these light & creamy potato puffs. not too oily, but with a lightly crispy deep-fried shell to complement the pasty potato inside.

Sauteed Mexican Bay Scallops
mmm, mmm good! how can you go wrong with pancetta and scallops?! quite tasty with a solid buttery flavor to add to the fatty goodness. a 5-star winner.

Smoked Salmon with Chive Cream
3.5 stars. normally, i would’ve given 4 or 5 stars, but when compared to the bay scallops, it just doesn’t seem to compare. this was a little too much chive cream and not enough salmon for me.

Curried Ground Lamb Stew
for breakfast/brunch, curried anything just doesn’t work for me. i probably would’ve enjoyed this sandwich much more if it had been for lunch or dinner. heavy curry flavor with nicely cooked lamb.

Peach Bread Pudding
oh, my favorite part of this meal! the bread pudding tastes fresh and comes out in a super-mini paper loaf shell. if you like peaches and bread pudding, definitely consider ordering this item to finish off your meal! cooked to perfection.

Amazing! (But Pricey Dinner)
The food here is fantastic. I had the best steak sandwich I have ever had here. However, the dinner menu is pricey, so I just come for lunch.

Why can't there be one near me?
Gregoire is basically a gourmet take-out restaurant. They serve lunch and dinner, so it’s perfect for a quiet dinner at home or a picnic. It’s nice to have high-quality food to go. I had the lamb chops, which were quite tasty.
