From the Restaurant
Serving hearty food with rural roots and an urban twist, Food 101 caters to those seeking a dining experience reminiscent of days gone by. Created by talented chef Scott Crawford, the menu features proven classics with an inventive twist. Comparable to a traditional, 1920's New York speak-easy, our Virginia Highlands eatery exudes comfort not only through its food, but also through its relaxed atmosphere.

Abysmal
This restaurant has gone steadily downhill. The crab risotto special currently on offer is inedible. Far too little crab and far too much salt. The vegetables that went with the seared tuna were also too salty…perhaps to encourage us to drink more wine? The music was so loud we could hardly hear each other, though at least they did turn it down a bit on request. Worst of all the chef came by to greet us, and turned and walked away without a word while I was trying to express my concerns. With so many other good restaurants in North Highlands, this one is to be avoided!
