fresh tasty tapas
small and cozy, twist offers a nice selection of surprisingly fresh tapas and sangria at moderate prices. (i couldn’t get over how fresh all the dishes tasted.) i came w/a large group of friends, and had an enjoyable time and left looking forward to another return.
the only issues are the wait (no reservations accepted on saturdays) and parking, which can both be brutal during busy hours.

Paella Twist
if you love paella, you’ll love this paella twist. cooked al dente (for lack of a better word), and mixed w/a varied collection of seafood.
-
Tuna Cannelloni, Canelon Relleno
uber mayonnaisey! i might’ve enjoyed this dish w/o so much mayonnaise sauce drenched over the cannellonis.
-
Tiramisu
probably enough for 2 people to share, this tiramisu tasted light, refreshing, and sweet. a nice way to end our meal.
-
Flourless Chocolate Cake, Tarta de Chocolate
i’ve never had flourless chocolate cake, so i was caught off guard by the almost ganache-like texture. very rich and dense with chocolate.
-
Spanish Omelet, Tortilla Espanola
i’m not a fan of tortilla usually, but this one tasted surprisingly fresh!
-
Bacon Wrapped Dates, Datiles con Tocino
the name didn’t sound that appealing, but i have to say this was one of my favorite dishes that night. sweet, tender, and flavorful.
-
Crabmeat Turnovers
i couldn’t taste the crabmeat all that well (maybe it was the sangria), but it was a decent dish.
-
Jalapeno Gnocchi
definitely my least favorite dish. the gnocchi was a little too squishy, and the cheese tasted like the kind of cheese you get out of a can.
-
Lobster Ravioli
3 large-sized ravioli in a rich creamy sauce. delicious!
-
Mini Crabcakes
yumm….the crabcakes are puny in size, but very tasty.

One of the best tapas places in the city. The place is pretty small, so make sure to get reservations and don’t plan on bringing a group over six (you won’t want to share with that many people either). The food is great, presented well and perfectly cooked. The sangria is also very good and comes in different flavors.
