yummy lucky burritos
i stumbled upon lucky burrito as it was w/in walking distance of the mazda dealership i was at. it’s a small, colorfully decorated sit-down/carry out restaurant offering your typical mexican fare – burritos, tacs, etc. the service is super-friendly, quick, and attentive. the burritos are massive and absolutely delicious & not for the faint of heart – i think i spent the rest of the day digesting my lucky burrito.
if i’m ever back in the area and craving mexican, i’ll surely put lucky burrito at the top of my list for fabulous quick eats.

Tasty, cheap, and filling burritos
I was down in Oak Lawn getting some work done at the Mazda dealership down there and needed somewhere to eat. Unfortunately, things aren’t as densely packed as the rest of Chicago so there weren’t too many places to choose from in walking distance. Fortunately, Lucky Burrito had an electronic billboard flashing “Burritos”, “Tacos”, “Tortas”….couldn’t resist.
At first glance, it looks like a takeout place because of the cash register, but you can sit down at one of the booths or tables that have the colorful menus (see the pics). It’s a small place so service was quick and friendly. There’s even a window where you can see the guys cooking and making the food.
The prices here reminded me of the Mexican food in California – nice and cheap. $4.30 for a burrito – sure! The burritos were nicely grilled too so the tortilla was sligtly crispy – very nice! They come with a knife and fork too so you know it’s big.
If I’m ever in the area again, I’d head back there for a quick and cheap bite.
