Best Restaurant in Hales Corners

One of my friends is from Germantown and has been to the Brisco up there and recomended that we try the new one in Hales Corners. I have never been to the one in Germantown, but if it is as good as the one in Hales Corners, then you might want to check that one out too.

First off: my ribs rocked! I highly recomend them. I also enjoyed our apptizer chicken nachos. The baked beans were sweet and yummy, and my soup (chicken enchilada) was delicious.

My friend has a cheeseburge of some kind — something with chipotle — which she said was “awesome!”, and our other friend had the chicken fajitas which were just as enjoyable (I had a bite, and they were great).

The atmosphere was great. They had all of these big TVs that were in high-def playing all sorts of baseball games. I’m not a big sports guy, but if you are I recomend going to the bar there.

Our service could have been a little better, but that certainly isn’t a complaint. Our server was attentive, I just think he could have been a bit more knowledgeable.

Overall I highly recomend Brisco County. I give it 4 stars overall, but compaired to the other places on Hwy 100 near Hales Corners, it should be given 5 stars.

Good Drinks, Food, and Time!

We had a great time at the new Brisco County in Hales Corners.

They have these HUGE High-Def TVs at the bar. They had all these games on them and everything. The bartender (Steve) was also very nice and made me a good drink (it was a “June Bug”).

The food was awesome! The portion was a good size — rather than give you a big portion of crap (this is awful, can I have a lot of it please?) they give you a good portion of delicious food.

My Ribs were, without doubt, the best ribs I have had in Wisconsin (as in the state, and not just Milwaukee). My wife loved her Fish Fry, and our appetizer (Quesadillas) were excellent as well.

I highly recomend it!

Stay Away

Over three weeks both visits included continuously shooing flies away from the meal. Also the background music was loud head banging screaming for the “enjoyment” of the mostly over 50 crowd trying to eat their meals. On both occasions the rib eye steak was mostly fat and gristle. This place will be closed in a year.

What a great place!!!

We stopped at the new Brisco County over the weekend and had a wonderful time. I was able to watch the Brewers on a big screen which surprised me that they had so many tvs in the dining room. i had the ribs and chicken which were some of the best i ever had. My husband had the filet, which i thought was a good deal on special for 18.95. It was just a really good meal in a comfortable laid back environment. I’d tell my friends about it.

Brisco County Go Home!

Well lets start out with a good idea but then blow it in the end!
After a long awaited time me and my hubby got our chance to try out the new Brisco County Wood Grill in Hales Corners, we had been seeing it for a while and was excited to try it as I am a big fan of the one in Germantown, we read the previous review but hey the other one was great maybe it was a bad day for the restaurant…NOPE!
We also had a coupon and arrived at the restaurant around 430, we were immediatly seated and started with the fried onion straws appetizer which are my favorite, OMG! when they arrived the portion was only the size of a small order of fries at McDonalds on a plate, slim pickens for the 6.95 price, I mean do they really think that 2 people can eat these? Guess not… but I have eaten this item at many different restaurants in town and usually I kick myself for ordering them because by the time my food comes I am pretty much full, no chance at this place, my first thought was “get out now and go to A&W next door! My side salad came next, I asked "where is the fat lady?” my hubby asked why? I said because I want to see the fat lady that sat on my salad! Flat and wilted what it was! and the plastic sealed container with my salad dressing was a joke(what you cannot afford a glass dressing container) try the dollar store management!! 30 minutes later comes our entree, we had the bacon cheeseburgers well done, they were good but I am still waiting for my soft drink, my hubby ordered his when we first got there, and when the burgers finally come my waitress says “hey I forgot your soda” I said “yes I know” she comes back a few minutes later with my soda but no straw, my husband gives me his…thanks babe! So we eat our 9.00 hamburger with a skinny pickle and no onion for my burger, I ask the waitress for some and she does bring it, my husband who asked for tartar sauce for his fries never gets it but that is ok because they bring him a hard baked potato! that is ok, I will eat the baked potato but wait..no butter for the potato, oh forget it!!! He does get his fries and we eat our dinner! we ended up using the 1/2 off appetizer coupon for discount which is about right since they weren’t even worth the 6.95 but only the 3.50 we paid for them, when leaving the restaurant the manager asked how was the meal, he said ‘great" I glared at him and when my hubby went to the restroom I told him the truth about the service and the small portion of onion straws, when I told him that you usually get a good size portion at the restaurant he told me it was because that store had “portion control problems” and his store served the proper portion of 8oz of onion straws, so there it is…1.00 an once of onion straw please! I then told him that in the future I would go to that store instead, he said “thank you” but on the other hand I will not, I will go to the “Open Flame” restaurant across the street where they have fab menu for 10.00 and their hamburgers are only 6.95! So Everyone around….DON’T DO IT!

Not So Great

We went on a Saturday around 1pm. Our waitress was prompt to greet us, however, when it came time to order she read the specials to us and announced the soup of the day as BLT. When my husband asked what was all in the soup she said its a “cream soup and ummmm it has bacon in it.” He asked what else was in it and she said “ummm I’m not sure.” She never offered to ask anyone so my husband ordered chicken dumpling soup instead. ($2.95) It was dumpling soup there was not one piece of chicken in the soup at all! We also had Potato boats ($7.45) as an appetizer which were large portions think two and a half large potatoes loaded with cheese and bacon. They were very tasty but had no sour cream or salsa to go with them. I did ask for sour cream and she gladly got us some. My husband had the 6oz sirloin and three jumbo fried shrimp ($15.95) . He ordered his steak medium and it was well done and butterflied. He had to cut it with a butter knife because there were no steak knives, it was tough. His sides were garlic mashed potatoes which were ok and veggies, green and wax beans which were greasy and overcooked. I had a half rack of ribs ($13.95) with baked beans and asparagus, the ribs were tender but dry the beans were tasty and the asparagus was limp and overcooked. As beverages we ordered soda which were pepsi products ($2.25), the waitress came by three times without offering to refill my husband’s empty glass that sat on the edge of the table everytime she came by. The third time he had to ask for a refill. Over all we ended up paying $47.42 including tip and we even had a $5.00 off coupon. We could’ve gone to a way better restaurant for that price.
