MPK at its best. This place is regularly packed and ridiculously packed on the weekends. Known for their great dim sum and fairly decent prices, NBC is what cheap/good chinese MPK food is all about. It is probably one of the most popular dim sum places in the real asian ghetto.

This MPK staple has been around for years, weathering the difficult and ultra competitive environment that is MPK. Only the best of the best survive in the asian culinary materpiece that is the MPK restuarant. MPKers are known for their discerning palates and many a restaurant has sucumbed to moving elsewhere or closure for serving less than stellar food.

The regular menu items at this place are great as well, and seafood items reign supreme.

better than the network!

i love nbc (the channel), but i love the restaurant even more! Everytime we visit our grandparents, we tend to eat at few places, but primarily NBC restaurant (not that we complain!). Even though we came the lunch following Thanksgiving, we didn’t really hold back on the eating.

Now the specifics.. the restaurant itself is HUGE and there are tons of tables. It looks nice, but due to its largeness, the noise can get kind of loud. On busy days, even though it is large, there can be a bit of a wait. There is a reason for this wait though, and it is top notch dim sum. They have a large variety, and a ton of carts going around. We literally had 3-5 dishes after we sat down (see dishes below). The food quality and price overcomes the noise problem.

From previous experiences, the dinner is also good. They have a spectacular crab dish, where there are flashy lights in the crab’s shell for the eyes! NBC is just that versatile.

What I ate:
  • *****

My favorite dim sum. Sticky and meaty. Also makes a good snack.

  • ****

Always confused what the name of this dish is in english. Good.

  • ****

Small, but good blend of custardiness and flakiness.

  • *****

Much better than other shrimp dumplings. There are tons of shrimp in a little ball.

  • *****

Tastiness! Flaky, not too buttery, and meaty.

  • ****

    Standard.

  • *****

Better than other chicken buns. The bread and chicken is great. There is also sausage in it.

one of the best dim sum places ever

NBC definitely rates as one of my favorite Chinese restaurants. They have a huge variety of dim sum, and they are all really tasty. I could go into detail about certain dishes, but I have different preferences, and all of them are delicious anyways. It is also really cool how customers can order large amounts of dim sum to go, so they have a store of food at home or don’t want to eat there. Safe to say, this service is abused. =D

If you come here at dinner time, when there is no dim sum, they still have good food. Most of the dishes are traditional Chinese dishes, but me and family got a flashy, expensive crab dish. They put blinking lights for eyes on the shell! It was also very delicious, especially the crab noodles. Anyways, if you like Chinese food at all, this is the place to go, although the location isn’t the best and there is always a wait.
