Went to Gen Kai last Friday and basically got no service and no food after 1 hr. The owner was called and she basically took no responsibility for the mixup whatsoever. To make matters worse the check that she dropped on the table was totally wrong overcharging us for food we never got. So we send the check and the owner back to do some simple math. Guess what, check comes back AGAIN wrong. Maybe its only me but I would not want to eat SUSHI of all foods from such an incompetent owner. It took 30 min just to get a correct check.

If the owner had any class she would have comped the meal after we waited for an hour with no food and no drink refills or even queries on how we were doing. This owner clearly feels entitled and one should question why they should eat at an establishment if the owner is so out of the loop. If the owner is that clueless what about quality much less safety of food since we are talking sushi here.

Needless to say I will do everything I can to keep people away from this place. Run don’t Walk from this place. If I could give a zero star I would.

This location is by far the worst place to get sushi in a 100 mile radius. The WORST service ever was received from not only the crew staff but also from the owner herself. On a Friday night 7pm you expect to wait a little longer for food once you order but to to wait 50 min to get just 2/6 sushi rolls is more that anyone should wait. I waited another 20 min after I ate those 2 rolls for someone to even ask how things were. I had to remind the waitress what I had ordered TWICE MORE!! One hour and 10 minutes later and only 1/3 of your order served, I was upset, still hungry, and embarrassed in front of my guest and so I ask for the manager and the bill for what was eaten. Ten min later, I got the owner a $65 bill for the full order that was not even served! I explained my issue and told her she had a problem with time even if it is a Friday evening. My bigger shock was that she didn’t even care! She just asked me what I expected her to do! Well she had 3 chefs and it still was the slowest place on the west coast. it was 20+ minutes between sushi rolls that were ordered at the same time!!! I guess she makes one roll on each order first for the whole restaurant. When I asked her why I’m expected to pay for food that wasn’t even deliver to the table she took the bill and said she’ll fixed. I got it back and I wasn’t shock that owner does NOT know how to add. My bill was to be for $33 and she adjusted it to $54. I am not a person to yell in public but they had me on the brink. I was not going to pay $21 extra to be treated like garbage, in fact I was already upset I had to even pay full price for two sushi rolls and a BAD evening. It took them 2 more tries and 3 more people to charged me for only what I consumed. I will never go back and I will always discourage anyone from doing so. The owner clearly doesn’t care about how she serves people…the food may be fresh but that will only get you so far. TERRIBLE SERVICE!!! BEWARE!!!!

Cons: BAD SERVICE FROM OWNER, no parking area, dumb wait staff, can’t add, no apology
