We had a reservation (with a credit card deposit) for 25 people in a private room at Aja for 8 pm Saturday night for a going away party. When we arrived, we were taken over to the bar area where four table tops were set up for us – um, that is NOT a private room. After some serious complaining with management, we were assured that we would get a private room, but we might have to wait awhile, but in the meantime they would bring us some free appetizers. Turned out to be some ribs and chicken skewers that fed 75% of our party, and ended up maybe one piece per person. TWO hours later, we were finally taken up to the private room (which seated two other parties). By this time half our party left because they were dying from starvation. We didn’t receive menus until 10 minutes later, and 15 minutes after that we FINALLY ordered, but then it took at least another 30-45 minutes to get our food. We had brought a cake for the going away party and asked the waitress to bring it out since it was now almost 11:30. 20 minutes later the cake finally came out, but instead of bringing plates and a knife for us to cut it up, they whisked it away and it took another 20 minutes for it to come back out. The whole cake wasn’t used and we never saw the remainder of it again. When the check finally came out (surprise, took forever), we were not happy that it wasn’t split up. The orders were taken per seat and when the reservation was made we were asked ift the bill should be split up, so this shouldn’t have been an issue. When asked if they could split it up, the waitress said ‘it could take a while’, and we were in no mood. We ended up having to do the math ourselves, and didn’t leave the restaurant until almost 1 AM. 5 hours for a mediocre dinner with horrific service – we will never be back.
