Alibi’s was first bar in town to go smokeless but now the state has gone tobacco free it is having to compete with other downtown bar & grills. It is one block form college and close to the downtown Carlisle Theater. Most people park by the post office, half a block away.
The menu is conservative with usual standard fare. Being so close to a college with a renown international program one would have thought the menu would be more ambitious. No signature dish has emerged that has spread by word of mouth. A place like this needs more fresh food offerings, how hard is it to make real french fries, home made bread rolls, and salad dressings.
A new Belgium restaurant is scheduled to open next door and may push Alibi to be better if it is to compete.
Steak cooked as asked. Fries disappointing.
A friend had had this sandwich and liked it. His fish was haddock. So I ordered it, but my fish was not haddock or cod. It was battered but batter was soggy.
