An excellently low price for great quality and...
An excellently low price for great quality and quantity of Japanese food. I expected the food to be pretty good as it is right next door to Uwajimiya, and I figured right. I can’t wait to try the soba noodles and a special or two next time that I’m there.
good food and service makes happy hour extra happy

This was the first time I came for happy hour in a long time, and now I can’t wait to go back. Lots of plates and beer start at 2.50 each, and the food quality is just as good as the full entrees here. Service was good and quick, and with reservations they were able to accommodate our large party.

Dinner Bento Box
If you like varieties, Bento Box is perfect for you – A few (big) slices of sashimi, three pieces of sushi roll, 4-5 gyoza, children katsu (Japanese styled fried chicken), and a big bow of rice. Oh, and it also comes with miso soup and salad. You can’t go wrong with a Bento Box. Best of all, the Bento Box special changes everyday, so you can have something different every time.

Big portions if you choose right
My follow-up review for this restaurant. Read my previous review for this restaurant here
Came here for dinner, which is usually not as crowded as the lunchtime rush for Microsofties. I finally tried the dish many of my friends usually get, and now I’m totally stuffed. Service, as always, was quick and attentive.

Great service, okay food
I wandered in here on a busy Friday night, but received a friendly welcome when I said I needed a menu to make a take-out order. After I ordered, the hostess offered me tea while I waited—nice.
It’s cozy inside, if a bit too snug-feeling. (It feels just a bit dim, which may contribute; I suppose if I were there on a date it would feel romantic instead of close.)
I didn’t dislike either of the sushi rolls I had here. Perhaps they’re simply prepared in a different style than I’m used to?

Rainbow roll
The fish atop this role was quite good, but the roll itself veered a little to the sweet side for me. The California roll often has a bit of sweet to it, and usually it’s a nice counterpart to the fish, but the balance wasn’t quite right for my taste.
-
Spicy tuna roll
This roll seemed well-made, but it didn’t hit the spot the way I hoped. The spicy tuna was good, but a little skimpy in proportion. Like the rainbow roll, it veered a bit too far to the sweet side, which in the spicy tuna roll was particularly unexpected. I’m not one of those people who isn’t satisfied unless the proportions are huge, either. The mix of flavor and texture just didn’t do it for me.

One of My Favorites
You can always expect to get solid quality Japanese food at this joint. It does get crowded at noon time for lunch. The restaurant is neither fancy nor expensive. But rather, it has a relaxing environment accompanied by great food and friendly staff. I’m not Japanese, but it seems like the Japanese businessmen/family around the area endorse this joint with their frequent attendance.
-
Chicken Katsu Curry with Rice
Large portion, which can definitely fill you up
-
Lunch Special Bento Box
When you can’t settle on just one dish, try this bento box which consists of a variety of smaller portion dishes. Check the whiteboard as this combo is different every day.
-
Unagi Don
Unagi don usually comes a bit boring with just eel on a bed of rice, but I find myself unable to resist the temptations of their tasty Unagi Don from time to time…
