Tips:
  • Family-style portions are impressive--you'll want to share.
  • For privacy, request an alcove table on the main floor; in summer, enjoy outdoor seating. Drop-ins can sit upstairs in the cushy Cham Bar, where there's often live jazz.
  • Valet is $9, or get 1 1/2 hours validated in the Ghirardelli Square garage. Street parking is possible, but not during tourist season.
  • Treat yourself and up to 35 of your closest friends right in the private dining room.

From OpenTable:

The multi-tiered dining room reflects the warmth and inviting aura of a rural Vietnamese home and courtyard. Ana Mandara serves modern Vietnamese cuisine accompanied by an extensive wine list.

An adorable place with delicious food

Wow, the decor of the place was just amazing. Plants artfully arranged, tealights at the table, high lights focused on tables to create nice soft lighting. And very cool lotus lamps too. Upstairs area looked like a fun place to do drinks / lounge about.

My friends and I came here for Dine About Town deal since it’s nearing the end of Jan. Their menu was pretty good since it wasn’t a special DAT menu, but off their regular menu.

The ambiance and the good food alone are enough to recommend this place for special occasions.

Dishes I tried:

Crispy Lobster Ravioli

An awesome appetizer. Got 5 crispty lobster ravioli, seemed like potstickers artfully arranged around some pickled daikon and carrots. Mango and coconut sauce was drizzled on the dish. Had a nice mild spicy kick to it.

Seared Mekong Basa

Seared white fish in lemon sauce on a bed of sauteed pea sprouts. Pea sprouts were very good as was the fish.

Flourless coconut rum cake

I was hesitant about this since I read mixed reviews of it and was worried it would be too heavy. My worries were unfounded and it was just utterly delicious. Reminded of of rich egg custard with a dash of coconut flavoring. Was not very heavy at all. Though if it was larger, it might hit a point of cloyingly sweet.

The environment is very cozy and the food is different. I like the pork belly, but it was a little dry. The ahi tuna was o..k… The dessert was good too, but I was too full to actually enjoy it. haha

My favorite restaurant in San Francisco

Whenever I'm in San Francisco I go there at least once. I went there for the first time 5 years ago and I keep coming back. It's always just fantastic. The food, the service, the ambiance, everything. I've always had a wonderful…

Love Love Love this Place

This is a great restaurant to experience a night in a far away land. The food is over the top tasty. The drinks are superb. Attentive wait staff. Large tables, little away spots for groups and large places for events.

Horrible service!

Watch out diners! The waiter added on extra portions of appitizers, (not informing us of course.) And when we questioned the check, he said "well you ate it!" then stormed off and slammed the check book on my chair. The manager was…
