I and my fiance were visiting the city of Joliet, IL from Tennessee, on Saturday Jan.17, 2009 we decided to go to Applebee’s for an anniversary dinner, we arrived at Applebee’s at approximately 8:40 pm and were immediately seated and after just a few minutes a waitress (Jessica S.) came to our table, we ordered an ice tea and a corona beer to drink, the drinks came in a timely manner, we then ordered an appitizer and our entres’ at the same time, we ordered Dynamite Shrimp as our appitizers and we both ordered NewYork Strip steak for our entres, we got our appitizer’s at 8:50 and waited for our entres’, at 9:25 after asking the manager why it was taking so long, we finally got our food, it was a very cold wintry night and the restaurant was not busy, the manager could not explain why it was taking so long to get our food, we were not angry nor did we speak in a biligerent manner to the manager or make a scene in any way, when our food came we politely ask for take out cartons and our check so that we could leave. The frightening part came when got back to the hotel and opened our food to eat, both baked potatoes had pubic hairs in them, it was so disgusting we immediately threw the entire meal into the garbage. This is a practice that I had heard about but never experienced until dining at this Applebee’s Restaurant. I would caution anyone dining here to just pay for their drinks and leave and not take the food as carryout if their order is delayed. This place is truly disgusting and I will never eat at another Applebee’s as long as I live.
