3.0my mom and i live right around the atwood, so it would be logical for us to go all the time. but we only went once, and never went back, for reasons i doubt either of us could articulate well. the food was just fine (a little pricey, for sure) but the decor did absolutely nothing for me; it was like sitting in a despised aunt’s living room and suffering through cocktail hour.
it’s just one of those restaurants where i wouldn’t recommend it, and if someone asked me about it i’d say, “oh, sure, i guess you could go there, if you want.” anything more than lukewarm just isn’t going to happen.
very edible, but i never craved it or even thought about it again.

1.0I was in Chicago for business and took two authors to Atwood Cafe with several other colleagues. The restaurant had been highly recommended. Once our entire party was there, it took nearly 30 minutes before the waitperson came over to take our drink order. And she had the worst body odor! It was sickening. I can’t believe the management didn’t seem to notice and make her go home. There were about 8 entree choices and they were out of the only beef option, which was a ribeye. It was 8:00 PM on a Thursday night and they were out of the steak??? Really. I ordered rabbit over polenta. It was dried out and tasteless. I would not recommend this restaurant to my worst enemy!
