Excellent vegitarian

I am not a vegitarian or vegan, nor do I eat the raw style of cooking. However, I came to Au Lac 5 or 6 years ago as my friend found this jewel of a restraunt. They have updated the decor of the restruant which is really lovely, but the food is still amazing. I have had the Spring Rolls which are fresh and crisp and on my last visit I had the “Beef” (tofu) and watercress. It was simply fantastic in taste and texture. I have also had the noodle soups and they are excellent as well. Do not be afraid of this restraunt being vegitarian as you will be missing out on delicious Asian style foods.

Dishes I tried:

"Beef" (tofu) and Watercress

Wonderful taste and texture. Not soggy. Nice flavors and I did not miss beef at all.

Delicious Vegetarian and Raw vegan food!

This place turned my husband and me into Raw Vegan fanatics. At least when we go out to eat…. The Raw menu is delish:fresh fruits, vegetables and nuts turned into delectable and very filling plates. The vegetarian menu is largely vietnamese style food with fake meat. Out favorite off that menu is the spring rolls (the peanut sauce is soooo goood) and the black pepper lobster (made of soy, we call it the sausage because that is what it tastes like. it is awesome!). Off the raw menu we like the pastas (made from zuccini or coconut) and the salads. De La Mama is always a treat. The pesto is great too. The only things I avoid:My hubby and I are not a fan of the raw soups but my friend loves them so each his/her own. On the cooked menu the duck is hard like an old shoe. I don’t know what went wrong there bc everything else I have tried was good.
Oh and for dessert if you eat dairy you must have the mud pie ice cream!! On the raw menu the chocolate chai dessert is our favorite!

Dishes I tried:

Raw Pesto Pasta

Raw Coconut noodles, broccoli, sundried tomatoes, pesto sauce. Slightly warmed (raw food can be warmed up to 117 degrees and still be considered raw). Make sure to share it – after a plate of (cooked) spring rolls my husband and I split it and we were stuffed!
