At least it's cheap...
Price and variety are the main things going for Jose Berstein’s Mexican/Jewish Deli. The menu has everything from pastrami sandwiches to “the best burrito” in brentwood to a kalbi plate? weird i know, but if you just want to eat in the area without paying $15 bucks for a sandwich at Jerry’s then this will at least keep you from starving. There’s even a couple seats on the sidewalk so you can watch the line at Diddy Reese’s across the street.

Pastrami Sandwich
Hmm, I’m not sure what kind of “pastrami” this was, but it was probably about 10 times thicker than any pastrami slice I’ve had. It was also chewy and had ligaments. It almost seemed like it was kalbi meat. It was the kind of tough where you take a bite and the whole piece of meat comes out of the sandwich.
At first I thought maybe I misordered the sandwich, but he definitely said “here’s your pastrami sandwich” when giving it to me. odd.
