Just the right amount

I went here for the first time recently and I was amazed at how many people fit in such a small place. I thought the service was a little slow (actually never got a refill of my water or an offer for one). The meal portions were perfect, nothing left to take home and a full stomach. The food was good nothing too spectacular though.

Extras:

My meal cost

I tipped

Great spot for breakfast

La Bellavia recently started accepting credit cards, which means you don’t have to walk downtown to find an ATM before breakfast. Like a lot of Flagstaff joints, it’s a little crowded and seating can be tight, but they have a great patio in the front and serve a fantastic breakfast with what I’m pretty sure is the biggest pancake I’ve ever seen.

What I ate:

This is really why I go here. Others will have the whatever, but as far as I’m concerned, breakfast at La Bellavia is all about the trout and eggs. Pan-fried trout, two eggs how you want them (which means lusciously over medium, in my case), english muffin and potatoes or an absolutely enormous pancake. I usually go for the potatoes.

Let’s talk about the fish. This isn’t an anemic little fillet: It’s a whole trout, the proof of which is in the skin on either side of the substantial pieces. Bits of it are slightly crispy, and as the egg yolk swirls around it I am forced to swoon.
