The Trickster's Trunk ... a poor man's cirque
We came for a xmas present and it was a good experience, but I’d rate it decent to good.
The performance is reasonably entertaining. The trickster himself is by far the best performer. Some of the local and rotating talent are hit or miss.
As far as dinner, the appetizer was good, but ended up only eating a few bites of my poorly cut and overcooked steak.
If you attend, get the seafood.

Steak
This was one of the worst steak’s I’ve had and far below what I would expect. Overcooked, poorly cut, and unpalatable. The staff came by and asked how the meal was. I told them the steak was terrible. She said I was a big boy and should eat up.

The Trickster's Trunk Is Magical
My follow-up review for this restaurant. Read my previous review for this restaurant here
My third trip for a night of Dinner and Dreams. I want to go again! The new show is almost as good as the preivous one. The lead was a tremendous singer and the acrobats were awesome. There was humor at every turn, at our table, and under it, too!
When you consider the venue, the food is surprisingly good. But that’s not the point – the food is just one of the many pleasures of the evening.

Artichoke and Shrimp Tower
The appetizer was awaiting when we arrived. The flavors in the creamy arctichoke cream surrounding the shrimp were delightful with crispy croccantini flat bread.
-
Roasted Cream of Cauliflower Soup
A super soup! Everyone scraped the bowls dry and exclaimed with how delicious the pepitas topping was.
-
Bibb Lettuce Leaves
The blue cheese dressing was a bit bland. The lettuce and candied nuts were very nice.
-
King Salmon
The fish was cooked perfectly. The sabayon was underwhelming – the flavor was kind of washed out. The greens beans were delicious. Unfortunately, the dish was lukewarm.
-
Peppermint Snowball
A splendid confection of chocolate (white and dark) with a mint surprise. Usually, I’m not a fan of sweets, but I couldn’t resist this. Each of the layers offered something unique and when they combined, I was bowled-over by this snowball!

Dinner and Dreams
I can’t help it – their tag line is perfect! I’ve been twice and even though I’m pretty sensitive about where I spend my money, especially with my ungrateful, teenage (redundant, I know) children, I bought six seats for dinner with the family on my birthday. It’s a risqué show, so I wouldn’t give a blanket recommendation to bring your kids – we’ve given up on sheltering ours – the youngest is 14.
This is an experience I wish everyone could enjoy – it’s a complete Seattle entertainment experience! Tom Douglas designs the menu (included in the +$100 ticket) and you’re regaled by comics, musicians, acrobats, dancers… It’s so exciting!
