What's Pinkberry Again?

Much better than Pinkberry’s AND Golden Spoon. Period. Well, there have been a couple of friends who prefer those other places, but I’d say 90% of the people I’ve talked to love Yogurt Land. It’s customizable, fun, and cheap, especially relative to Pinkberry’s (which only give you two flavors and limited toppings too). That said, if you like this, try out Yogurt World in San Diego on Convoy. The flavors are even better, although its 38c an oz instead of the 30c here in Irvine, and the place is much shabbier.

My favorite thing to do is to get a bunch o the fruity flavors, and the some fruit toppings, along with the soft chewy mochi bits and some almond flakes. It’s my now perfected combination.=P

Anyways, three months ago I’d have given the place 5 stars, but I’m over the yogurt craze now. I still eat there once in a while, but I’ve lost the craving for it. But it’s definitely a must try for young asian kids of high school and college age who want to hang out in a ridiculously long line for some very good yogurt,

Long Line.. Sigh

I’m a regular at the Yogurtland near CSUF.. where lines only exist on the hottest of summer nights. so i was quite peeved to wait in this ridiculous line..

but they do have better decor, and additional tart flavors. my favorite is always the plain yogurt, but i do give a thumbs up to the strawberry tart, blueberry tart, and even the taro. hehe

fruit selection was the same, but the mochi rice cakes were blobbed into one large mess so i skipped it this time around.

What I ate:
  • *****

topped with blueberries, strawberries, bananas, and occasionally mochi rice cakes

  • *

    disgusting

  • *****

tastes like japanese strawberry yogurt taffy candy

  • ****

tart with some berry juice mixed in

  • *

    mediocre

  • *

why get vanilla, when they have plain tart?!?!!

so-so yogurt

after all the hype and the positive reviews, i was a little disappointed w/yogurtland. (i would rather spend my money at golden spoon.) the yogurt itself is icy (bleh!) and the topping selection is mediocre at best — the silver lining being the fresh fruit. definitely a fun fad place to try, but not somewhere i will be returning to anytime soon.

My cousin Ryan took me here and now I want to go back. The decor was very pop-asiany in feel and the variety of yogurt flavor samples was pleasing to the tastebuds. I enjoyed sampling every flavor and choosing what kind of toppings I wanted on my yogurt. I prefer things that are hands on because it allows me to be picky with my food.

My only gripes would be the long lines and when some of the yogurt is slightly watery. Other than that, this place rocks my socks :)

The best Yogurt I have ever had. It does seem like it’s on it’s way to be the new Boba trend. A lot of fresh fruit toppings and fruit tart flavors. I like this place better than Golden Spoon. At 30 cents an ounce its not bad (they count the toppings when they weight it). I ended up spending less than 3 dollars for a good sized dessert.

Better than Pinkberry?

I dunno, I haven’t been to Pinkberry, but the yogurt itself was pretty standard. The big difference is that it’s all self-service and cheap. 30 cents and ounce is pretty good. I was able to get 2 flavors and some toppings for a little over 2 bucks.

Here’s how it works.

  1. Wait in line (there’s usually a line, so try to go offpeak)
  2. Grab either a large cup or a larger cup
  3. Add whatever frozen yogurt you want – do every flavor if you want
  4. Add syrups and sauces
  5. Add fresh fruits
  6. Add mini gummis, mini mochi, oreo cookies and cheesecake bites…mmmm
  7. Weigh your concoction and give man to money.

It’s open until 12:30 am on Fri and Sat so if you’re looking for a late night snack it’ll hit the spot.

Oh, and the bonus? According the laundry list of health benefits, it’ll strengthen your immune system, increase lactose tolerance, and clear your skin of acne!!!
