Good Korean BBQ

The BBQ here was very good, especially the Kalbi (or galbee), which was juicy and tender. The pajeon is a MUST; it is way better than many others that I’ve tried. If this restaurant was near where I lived, I’d probably just order it as a meal for myself. The restaurant itself is very clean and nice, with a modern-looking outdoor seating as well as indoor. The pricing is about what I’d expect from Korean, a bit more expensive than other restaurants, but good-sized portions and plenty of side dishes.

high quality, trendy korean

i came here for the first time for an early dinner over the weekend, and was really impressed by the high quality food. it’s probably one of the best korean bbq places (both in regard to food and ambiance) i’ve ever been to. this isn’t your usual hole-in-the-wall or mom ‘n pop type restaurant. it’s incredibly clean, trendy, upscale, and modern, and has a nice garden outdoor patio. it’s mandatory $2 valet, and the service can be a bit frigid/brisk if you’re not korean (which i suppose goes for many korean places). korean bbq always runs on the high side, and i thought for sure everything would be more expensive given how trendy and nice this place seemed, but it wasn’t too far from the usual prices i’ve run into at other korean bbq places. all the more reason to return.

What I ate:
  • *****

not too greasy or bready, just perfect right in between. a good mix of vegetables and seafood inside, and quite abundant in size. more than enough for 4 people to split.

  • ****

i love the meh-oon tang version, but alas my stomach just can’t handle the spicyness anymore. so this jeeree was my next best option. the broth is delicious, more than enough green veggies, my only complaint would be not enough black cod fish in the soup.

this is my favorite korean bbq restaurant in town.

this place is known for the “old school” feel, and the waitresses wear the traditional korean gowns while serving.

expensive, and the portions aren’t too large.

i come here for family gatherings, and manna w/friends.

Marinated galbi is perfect here

I really liked the food at Chosun. The meat is always tender and the banchan (side dishes) are very good. They do not give as many side dishes as some of the other Korean restaurants I’ve been to but nevertheless what they have is good.

The service was excellent and the restaurant is very clean.

What I ate:

This is my favorite dish here. The meat is so tender and the marinade is soooo yummy!

The non-marinated galbi is not as tender but it’s still pretty good.
