Good Ol' Mom & Pop Joint
Located on the corner of Foster and California, Hilltop is on the northwest corner facing Swedish Covenant Hospital. It looks like a small, quaint diner from outside and it is exactly that. Came here for lunch on a weekday and the place was pretty bustling with people who seem to be old-timers. Very friendly people who treat you like their kid, calling you “dear” from time to time. Very cute and cozy.
The Reuben sandwich (corned beef) was fabulous! And the sandwich deals are great! For $6.50, I got a small cup of delicious chicken noodle soup, a humongous sandwich with loads of cheese and beef, pickle, a small scoop of cole slaw, and a generous amount of yummy fries! They have gyros too… something to come back for. :)
If you happen to work nearby at the hospital or elsewhere, I’d check it out! One note: lunchtime gets pretty busy so expect a little wait for your food!
