Highly Decorative and Different Restaurant

I haven’t been to other Moroccan Restaurants, but this was highly decorated even the walls. It was very pretty and dark inside. You get to eat with your hands, I wouldn’t say the food is too great though. Best of all my guy friends got to enjoy watching the belly dancer while they ate.

I’m very hot and cold about this restaurant. It’s actually a funny story, the first time my fiance and I went there we were blown away at the sheer stupidity of the wait staff at the restaurant..yet knew we’d come back just because it was a cool restaurant. To explain further, I feel that if you’re in a restaurant and ask the wait staff what’s a favorite of theirs on the menu they should have one, or at least know enough about the menu to help the customer make an educated guess. However this was not the case here. 2 out of the 3 waitresses said they don’t eat at the restaurant, and the 3rd said she’s a vegetarian, so she didn’t have an opinion about the lamb. The wait staff was grumpy, inattentive, and it got worse from there to say the least.

But to cut the personal stories out, the food was mediocre, if you’re looking for great Moroccan cuisine, this isn’t it. It’s mildly over priced.

Yet the decor, ambiance, and entertainment make up for the staff. It’s a fun place to gather with a group of friends, sit on the floor drink mint tea and watch the belly dancers. I’m a big fan of authenticity, so I do like that seating is on the floor.

It’s definitely a restaurant to visit at least once if not making it a once a year tradition.

I’ve been to Marrakesh couple times already. The food is nice and exotic, usually meant for sharing, so it’s good for parties. Last time I was there was for a friend’s birthday. With wine it turned out to be $40 per person. Not that cheap. But the food is nice. Not good for vegetarians, but the meats are nice. The owner is nice too.

its not just a meal, its an experience! its great for an intimate date or a fun group get together.you can order individually or go with a five course meal for 17 per person.food quality and service were excellent. As with Moroccan tradition, you eat with your hands, which are washed with rose water; twice. They even have belly dancers.

Belly Dancer!

The several course “feast” option was fun. I enjoyed all the dishes and didn’t even mind eating with my hands once the waitress came by to cleanse our hands before we ate. The belly dancer added to the ambiance and created lots of silliness for our large group.

What I ate:

Really tasty couscous with sweet vegetables. Usually the veggie dish is sad looking compared to everyone else’s meat choice, but I was bragging about mine to everyone else!
