OK, but not the best
Lucille’s is OK for a gotta have in right now BBQ craving, but it can’t compare to Johnny Reb’s or Chicago For Ribs. The food is mediocre at best, with most of it tasting like it was mass-prepared in the morning, and re-heated when ordered. Add to that, the fact that the wait time for a table is ridiculous – usually at least an hour.
-
BBQ Tri Tip
Dried out, definitely microwave re-heated.
-
Smoked BBQ Half Chicken
High on grease, low on flavor.
-
Lucille's Combo Porch Platter
Nothing to write home about. Ribs at Johnny Reb’s are way better.

fast BBQ and friendly service
Lucille’s is a great option for BBQ lovers. The restaurant is pretty large and has a rather festive atmosphere. When I went, it was packed and bustling with people everywhere. There is a bar area where you can eat BBQ while watching the TV and drinking some beers. The atmosphere overall is very nice in my opinion. Even though there was a lot of people, the turnover rate was quick due to the large amount of people and the speed they deliver food to you.
The menu offers an extensive variety of BBQ related foods. It makes me happy to see a place that has southern fried chicken, gumbo, ribs, tri-tip, brisket, steak, salads with BBQ meat in it, and many other goodies. I ordered the BBQ ribs (of course) and it was pretty tasty. It comes with two sides, of which I got creamy cheese grits and macaroni and cheese. They accidentally gave me garlic mashed potatoes instead of the mac and cheese, but they compensated for that by also giving me it to me quickly while I got to keep the mashed potatoes. It didn’t really matter though, since the mac and cheese wasn’t too great. The potatoes were delicious though, and the grits were indeed gritty. The salads looked sweet because it has lots of meat and onion rings on top of it.
The restaurant seems to try very hard to satisfy the customer. They do this through generous portions, fast service (food comes in like 5 minutes or less I think!), and attention to small detail. For example, they offer lollipops for free to eat while waiting, have jars as cups, etc. The food is a bit pricey though, so you better come with a nice wad of cash. A 4.5 star restaurant.

Baby Back Ribs
The ribs were excellent, though I think I have had better. The side pieces meat was slightly tougher than the middle bones, and one piece was pretty burned. The middle bones were great though, and once you get started eating them, you don’t feel like stopping.
