Inconsistent but charming

Go here instead of Foxwood’s to gamble… Two out of three meals were quite good; one was a disaster.

The Italian-style dishes offered here are delectable when prepared correctly. This place is tops for romantic dining in a water-side setting.

Service is cheerful and quick. We’ve always been seated quickly here, a plus. Drinks are generous and fairly priced.

When they’re good, they’re remarkable. When they’re bad, they’re really bad. On one visit a steak (ordered medium) came out black-and-blue. We sent it back, and the same steak returned to us like a boomerang, with the explanation that the blackness on the outside was from the grill and couldn’t be avoided. We were astounded; they know how to cook a steak—usually. The same visit, we questioned the freshness of oysters on the half-shell. Two of the four of us got pretty sick that evening.

We would only recommend this place for Friday-Saturday dining.
