home fried goodness
ken kee is a rather small restaurant in chinatown that just reopened. i recently ate dinner here for the 1st time with a group of friends, and i really enjoyed all the dishes we ordered (and we ordered plenty of them).
the prices are decent, the portions are reasonable (given the prices), and the food is tasty, tasty, tasty. the menu is quite extensive, and diverse.
the only cons of eating here were the crowd and the service (a little slow). but otherwise, the food is excellent, and i will be coming back again.
-
Japanese tofu with golden mushrooms
marshmallow shaped tofu with unbelieveably delicious mushroom slices & special sauce. my favorite dish.
-
braised E-fu noodle
soft noodles in very good sauce
-
peppered chicken in black bean sauce on fried rice noodle
good stuff.
-
mixed vegetable in garlic sauce
broccoli, bean sprouts, carrots, pea pods in garlic sauce. more tasty than it looks or you’d think.
-
beef with Chinese broccoli
tenderlicious
-
fried fish fillet with spicy salt & pepper
deep fried, salty, and oh-so-tasty. a favorite at our table.
-
fat pork with chinese chives & preserved bean curd
lots of meat – a little tough. very salty.
