This is the Kaimuki branch of the chain, which is a little older and it is showing it’s age. The booth I sat in was repaired with tape on the seat, and you have to walk through the kitchen to get to the dining area from the main parking(pay) lot. However, it is all about the food, and this is on my list of old reliables.
I started with a small salad($.99) which was a fresh mix of greens, tomato wedge, shredded beets and carrots. Quite a deal for the price! My lunch was grilled fresh Mahi which really did taste fresh. The only part I don’t like is the dark (blood) portion , which is easily removed. With a squeeze of lemon, the wasabi aioli(aka mayonnaise) was hardly needed. I opted brown rice as a healthier choice(no extra charge) and it came with a sprinkling of furikake for added flavor. At $2.99, the iced tea is no bargain, but is quite refreshing on a hot day.
