Zenyai Fried Rice House
This is a decent lunch spot or good for a quick dinner in the evening. In my opinion, the place should really be called Zenyai Fried Rice House. The noodles from what I’ve had did not impress me at all but the fried rice here is great. A standard chicken fried rice will cost you about $7.50 if you take it to go. So if you’re ever having that craving for a nice plate of fried rice, hit up Zenyai.
Big menu but with instant noodle?
Confucius says: Man who eat at Zenyai eats better at home.
I popped in for a quick lunch while waiting for a hair cut. The restaurant seems big and has enough patrons: Asians and Caucasians, a nice mix. Ordered a “heavenly noodle” and it tasted like hell.
The noodles were those thin, yellow, curly types that are instantly recognizable as those square-blocked instant noodles you get at the super market. Even then, it was half boiled and tasted raw. The chicken was tasteless and veggies were a bit too fresh.
Maybe I ordered the absolute wrong dish and everyone else seems to enjoy their lunch. So I give them the benefit of the doubt – 2 stars. But do NOT order anything “heavenly” from this place. It’s only heavenly in $.
