This is a great place to eat at in La Jolla, especially on nice sunny days (which we’ve been having a lot recently! =D). Their is nice outdoor seating, where you can kind of see the ocean (other nearby restaurants might have better views). The beach and cove is just down the road. There was absolutely nobody eating indoors.
I felt the service was better than average here. Our waitress was super nice and genuinely seemed to care how we were doing. It was also nifty that I could pick what i wanted in my fruit smoothie (i picked strawberry, banana, and blueberries), which i think our waitress actually made. The food itself was good, although I was disappointed the meal i wanted (Moussaka – which is minced lamb, eggplant and some other stuff) was out. I made do with Chicken Shawerma (14 spice chicken with hummus, salad, and pita!). It tasted good, if the some chicken bits were slightly more succulent i’d give it 5 stars. Overall a good experience.
The chicken with hummus on pita slices tasted really good. The chicken alone is good, but some pieces were a little dry.
The salad dressing was really light (which sounds about right for Mediterranean fare). The chicken was good, but i like some good ol’ sauce on it. The chicken was good enough without sauce though.
You can pick whatever fruits to have in it, as long as they have it. Just know what you’re doing (not some crazy combination). It was tasty, had some small ice chunks in it though.

Took forever to get waited on. Food was then very average at best --- dry and without taste… and certainly costs way more than the $$ advertised. Service is atrocious --- arrogant and rude and just plain stupid. Didnt even know the difference between a chardonnay and a cabernet! Whatever happened to old-fashioned service where customers matter? I guess our $$$ are not really appreciated here. I’ll never waste my time here again. Way too many other good restaurants in LaJolla to waste time on this yawner! Not even for a view.
Oh yea…and mandatory tips are a real thrill too even with small groups!

I have never written a review before but the food was mediocre at best and the service was so poor it was shocking. The service was slow, horrible and the people rude. We were over charged for the meal and they slapped on a 18% gratuity for our party of 4. Nothing on the menu stated that gratuity was added on top but they slapped on an 18% gratuity after being incredibly rude. Beware of this place. There are many other restaurants with a view in La Jolla that you will enjoy in peace.
