I come from two seaside towns and will readily admit that I am very, very snobby/picky about seafood – it needs to be high-quality and fresh if I am going to even remotely enjoy it. But despite being in a locale that’s not right on the seashore, the Blue Point Grill does an impressively good job. In Princeton, I’d say it’s second only to The Ferry House. Everything is fresh (you MUST try their Arctic Char if it’s on the menu) but they do offer lower-caliber options that I stick my nose up at, such as talapia, farm-raised salmon, etc. I even once ordered Mahi Mahi, usually a safe choice for me, but it was very bland and mediocre. I hate to say it but choose according to price – the higher the price of the fish, the better it will probably be, especially for things that go in and out of season like the aforementioned delicious Arctic Char.

Awesome fish. Prepare to wait as they don’t take reservations. Never a bad meal at this restaurant. Get the mussels with mustard as a starting appetizer.

This is one of the fancy restaurants in princeton with the food that’s worth the price, in my opinion. It’s great to dine on the sidewalk patio when the weather is nice. The seafood here is fresh and cooked right. BYOB for a special occasion as well.

For lunch, go to the Nassau Seafood Company next door for a great deal! This is basically a little fish market that, in addition to providing all the seafood for the restaurant, has a great lunch menu. You are getting the same quality seafood as you would at Blue Point Grill — for a fraction of the cost.
