Horrible beyond belief
Going to Bluefin was the worst dining experience of my life. It was like going to a bad Old Country Buffet, but Asian-style. The sushi was a joke. They slapped a piece of dry fish on a hard rectangle of rice, which promptly fell off. The other Asian dishes were greasy and nasty, although the Korean BBQ chicken was the only thing that saved taste buds. I left feeling like I should puke in order to feel better. It was totally over priced and nothing there is worth the $25 per person they steal from you for a horrible dinner.

I might as well as fished some fish out of the garbage and put it on day-old rice than eat the sushi at Bluefin. Don’t kill your tastebuds or your gut.

good selection of sushi, some sashimi,...
good selection of sushi, some sashimi, seafood, and chinese/korean hotfoods. Selection is slightly better than Todai, and the food is fresher, probably because it just opened. Give it a couple of months and lets see if the quality goes down like the rest of the Asian food buffet eats around here.
it was super busy even on sunday for dinner. Had to wait eons to get a table. free soda (whoopi!) for grand opening I think.
Lunch is probably a better deal.

Expensive for medium/low quality food
I wasn’t expecting a high quality selection of sushi, but it was fairly expensive for the quality of food that you get. The sushi was falling apart and warm, and there were about 10 kinds of rolls and 10 kinds of nigiri. The seafood consisted of shrimp cocktail and crab legs. The tempura was pretty good, as was the teriyaki. There was a section of chinese and korean food that I didn’t try.
It was pretty busy for a Friday night, but it was easy to get a table for two. Service was slow (drinks, clearing plates) but every table was full so it could have just been that they were short-handed. Lots of parking since its in Northgate Mall (near JC Penny).
I’m not sure if the same dishes are offered at lunch, but you probably get a better deal at only 16.99/person vs 26.99 a person for dinner.

The sign at the front desk said “competitive prices with the Eating Factory – now with free soda!” You know, because the soda makes all the difference?!

AWESOME!
We have been there twice and I cannot wait to go again. We took our friends along and will recommend to everybody we know because of the superior quality and freshness of the food. Everything we ate was very tasty. We were extremely happy that even after two hours of eating we didn’t feel heavy and sleepy, our stomachs didn’t hurt as they do after overeating on unhealthy food. This place gets two thumbs up!

I'm not sure how I didn't get food poisoning
Normally I would avoid the Todai style sushi buffet, but I was looking for a place to eat with a friend, sushi sounded good and it appeared pretty nice from the outside.
First, the non-sushi offerings: There was plenty of food for non-sushi eaters. Soups, salad, noodle dishes, rice, seafood, ribs. I didn’t try the soup or salad, but the noodle and rice dishes were ok tasting. Pretty standard offerings, nothing great, just OK buffet food.
The sushi was the star of the show and while there was lots of it, it was of extremely poor quality and the freshness was questionable. There was a definite strong fishy odor that should never be associated with fresh fish. There also didn’t seem to be any care to the utinsiles being used to grab pieces and many were gummy with sauce.
By the end of the meal I was convinced I would suffering from food poisoing in the near future. I never got sick and I think I was lucky. I’ll never eat there again!!

Poor quality, poorly presented. Avoid at all costs.

Another bad sushi buffet
I could only say it is slightly better than Todai just due to it being smaller. The fish is "so-so’, perhaps a touch better than you may get at a kaiten place. It wasn’t that busy on Thursday, dinner for two was about 55 bucks. They put a ‘tip-guide’ on the bottom of the receipt, because it appears they expect 15% for delivering drinks. It wasn’t worth it.

Typical Buffet
It happened to be my birthday and the lure of the free birthday meal hit me. The catch was to have at least 3 other people paying for the birthday person to get the free meal. There is no problem as my family is large.
It was on a hot day in July last week and we were seated in the glaring sun due to the nature of our large group. I didn’t mind the sun as I had my sunglasses on the whole meal! I normally do not order drinks other than water but from what I can remember, they used to offer free drinks. So I ordered 2 kinds, tea and pop.
I’m been to bluefin several times, the food was acceptable in all the times I’ve been there. Last week was no exception. I headed straight to the sushi section and sampled ALL kinds of sushi that are not “raw.” I love the fried ones the best. After the sushi, I was already half full. I then ventured into the main courses and sampled the biggest crab claws I’ve ever seen. It tasted alright. Needed some butter, salt and pepper. Lots of meat in it although a little messy. At this time, sweat is running down my cheeks. They should have a fan or turn up the air conditioner. The heat didn’t deter me from pilling more into my plate. I then fill my plate with my favorites from the hot entree sections: Korean BBQ beef and chicken, jumbo shrimp, fried oysters and other comfort asian food. At this time, I can barely walk but needed to get my money’s worth. My meal was free but my guests cost about $30 per person after tax and tip. That’s not including the drinks yet. They also automatically charged 10% tip to the bill. I then headed to the dessert bar, nothing really fancy me but decided to indulge on Creme Brulee as my last attempt before holding up the surrender flag. It was delicious and creamy!
I might go there again next year to claim my birthday meal!
