so-so brunch, but a great view
The main attraction of this restaurant is probably the view. You’re right on Lake Washington with a great view near where the hydro races are in the summer. A good spring, summertime brunch spot. The interior of the restaurant is pretty nice – nothing to rave about but it’s a decent restaurant to go to if you want some food at a pretty reasonable price. The brunch food all seemed to be about 10 – 12 dollars. Nothing to rave about, but again it’s pretty good for the price and quantity of food.
Dishes I tried:
Joe's Scramble
I’ve had much better scrambles…slightly better than average.

Poor Judgement in Food Quality and Preparation
This restaurant has hosted a few names over the years but the Blue Water Bistro certainly has not held up the high reputation this spot deserves.
First, I was denied having my dog sitting outside on the deck by a fairly rude, abrupt young woman who speaks before she thinks. So I sat at the edge and had my dog under the table. No problem from the staff.
Next, I was served sliced baguette with what they swear is extra virgin olive oil with a few herbs sprinkled in. It didn’t taste, smell or look like EVOO. Trying to cut back, are we?
We happened to come on Seafair Friday and told happy hour was suspended for that day. Duh! Why? Bad decision. We had one beer and walked down the block to the Ruby Asian Restaurant and dropped our $100 there and found a hidden gem. I’ll do a review separately.
So We came back with mom and dad and were thoroughly disappointed by the salmon appetizer. Mushy and tasteless, maybe chum? Calamari was greasy as were the Fish and Chips, so we called it quits and wet back to Ruby Asian a couple of doors down.
It’s too bad it’s always been a great place to hang out but the food just doesn’t cut it. Outside dog friendly on occasion
