The stunning reincarnation of New York's original 1959 Brasserie showcases the award-winning, ultramodern design of Diller + Scofidio. Executive Chef Luc Dimnet's menu demonstrates a bold use of flavor giving an unexpected taste to classic French brasserie fare. Savor traditional dishes including Onion Soup Gratinèe and Maine Bouchot Mussels Marinière or modern plates like Gougonettes of Cod and Long Island Duck Breast Confit.Visit our other great restaurants by clicking on the link below.

Great service, good food.

Had dinner on a Thursday evening. Not crowded although we did secure a reservation in advance. Started with an appetizer, a “ravioli” with white asparagus and peas with a light yet flavorful sauce. Not your typical stuffed ravioli but a layer of pasta sitting on top of the vegetables. Crispy skinned arctic char was well cooked and enjoyed the fact that the skin was not skin at all but a crunchy skin-like mild rice breading. Finished with a mango sorbet that was refreshing. Restaurant itself was very modern with clean walls and furnishings. Loved the look of the bar. Enjoyed the blood orange margarita as well. Another member of our party had the omelet. It looked light and delicious. Only comment was the bacon could be crispier. Overall, I would return if I was staying nearby.

okay, this is the deal: if you’re on east 53rd street between park & lex, skip this place, walk around 1 block to east 52nd street and go to the Four Seasons restaurant instead. this place is a BORE.

The French onion soup is a must. It comes in a sizeable bowl oozing deliciously down the sides with melted cheese, everyone in my party was pleased with this dish. Many also seemed to enjoy the seared fish entrees, which were apparently cooked to perfection. I ordered the Petite Filet combination lunch, which came with a wide array of small portions of mediocre food (i.e. a small bowl of french fries). The modern art piece above the bar, which is a series of television screens capturing a customers entrance into Brasserie, is a curious addition to this trendy midtown eatery.
