Bridge Street Cafe

During my annual trek to Boothbay Harbor, Maine, I found myself at the door of one of its newest restaurants — Bridge Street Cafe. Upon entering, I was greeted warmly by Sharon, the owner. I found a comfortable seat in a sunny location in this brightly colored and sparkling clean establishment.

After indulging in the harbor view for a few minutes, I perused the menu. I was happy to see that breakfast was available all day. A couple leaving as I was on my way in had mentioned that the Designer Oatmeal was out of this world. Of course, I am a pancake lover as well, so I was torn between the two. My dilemma was solved easily when the owner agreed to give me a sampling of the oatmeal, along with the pancakes.

The pancakes were indeed light and fluffy and ample in portion. Be sure to ask for extra maple syrup. The unique flavor and texture of the oatmeal was superb and left me wanting more.

Fortunately I was staying in town long enough to return to sample some of the lunch items that caught my eye. The highlight of the Roasted Turkey Club was the cranberry mayonnaise. I also highly recommend the Signature Roast Beef sandwich. Diners are encouraged to choose their favorite condiments for anything on the menu. The combinations are endless!

My sweet tooth was well attended to with Sharon’s own Blueberry Buckle. It was so delicious, I brought home a whole pan of it for the freezer.

There aren’t many restaurants that I feel deserve a five star rating; however, the Bridge Street Cafe in Boothbay Harbor, Maine is one of them!. Plan to dine there sometime soon and experience its goodness!
