i usually go to buca’s for large group dinners w/my friends, but i came here for my 1st buca’s lunch. they actually offer a lunch menu serving dishes for one (instead of the usual 2 or 4 people size servings).

if you’re looking for a place to have a group meal, then buca’s is a fine option. all the dishes are served family-style, and variety is plenty to satisfy all palates…altho there is a heavy offering of tomato-based dishes.

Buca di Beppo offers the best family style Italian food I have ever had. The portions are large, and have a decent variety. There are meatballs, pizza, pasta, baked pasta, chicken, veal and excellent desserts. The important thing about a restaurant is the food quality though, and Buca di Beppo is one of the best places to go for Italian food in my opinion. The tiramisu is also full of rum, for those who like their desserts alcohol-y. =d

Buca’s isn’t out of this world, but it’s good food for a pretty good price. The dishes cost a bit more but they’re all super sized for family style sharing so you most definitely always end up with appetizers. Things can be a bit salty sometimes, but I can live with that. They also have more individual sized options for the lunch crowd but I still enjoy getting the big portions and sharing…there’s somehting fun about getting a gigantic plate of pasta or meatballs the size of your fists.
