From the Restaurant

From silk Thai lanterns and colorful beaded curtains that hang from the ceiling to an original Brunswick bar painted in gold and turquoise, this is clearly not your father's steakhouse. The Tavern's menu features USDA prime beef, Australian Wagyu, organically raised free range chicken, diver-caught Maine sea scallops, assorted fresh fish, New Zealand Rock Lobster Tails, and in season: oysters from both coasts, the Alaskan king salmon run, live Maryland soft shell crabs, morels, chanterelles, and porcini from hunters in Oregon and Washington, fresh produce from local lake county farms, and the Tavern's own home-grown heirloom tomatoes (last year 35 different varietals were brought home for service). An award winning wine list featuring over 700 selections. A great wine by the glass assortment, an unusually well stocked bar, and draught beer (including several outstanding Belgian selections)round out the Tavern's beverage program.

Amazing food, Amazing service

Was here for a private business dinner and was so impressed by the level of service and the quality of the food. I really look foreward to having dinner in the main dining room, because the fixed menu we had set up for our meeting was spectacular. A couple of us had some more drinks at the main bar after our meeting was over and were blown away by the selection of wine, beer and liquor at this gem of a restaurant. While I was at the bar I took a look at the full dinner menu and it looks like i will have a whole lot of trouble picking one thing to eat, knowing how well the Beef Tenderloin was prepared that we all had at our dinner, I can’t wait to try one of the other steaks.

What I ate:
  • *****

A beautiful fillet of tenderloin, perfectly cooked, and served over a slice of foie gras

  • *****

a great little starter, thick crisp kettle chips topped off with various types of caviar

Extras:
I came here for
a business meeting
My meal cost
between $25 and $50
I tipped

It's Tasty at The TAvern

The Tavern always delivers with a must see wine list, exceptional food and a decor that is wonderfully relaxing. It is the perfect place for a romantic dinner, friendly conversation, business plans or a truly awesome Private Party. The entire staff are true professionals, you can tell they like what they do. The kitchen staff delivers food with such consistency of recipe that you can bring in new guests with confidence of quality. The menu is a real delight, USDA Prime Steaks, New Zealand Lamb Rack, Organic Beef, Free Range Chicken, and Fresh Prince Island Mussels to enjoy. Don’t forget to save a little room for one of their sweet treats and dessert wines. No matter what your food mood or your tasting palate is, they bring it to the table. If wine is on your palate then you must indulge in their Award Winning Wine List. Take your time looking and you will find some fabulous deals on the list as well.
If you are searching for the Perfect location for a large group Hors d’ oeuvre reception or Dinner then look no further. Their upper level had two lovely Private Rooms for all occasions. Great Steaks, Exceptional Wine List

The Tavern is our favorite place to go in the suburbs. It is so nice to have this quality of a restaurant so close to home. The food, service, decor and wine list are outstanding. You won’t find steaks like this anywhere else around. And the wine list has over 700+ bottles!

What I ate:
  • *****

My husband said this is “the best steak” he’s ever had!

  • *****

Great fish selection with fresh herbs, asparagus and wild mushrooms.
