embarrasing service
We arrived at the restaurant at 6pm and were promptly greeted and seated by the host. He took us to a table that was missing a chair, so two of us sat, while the third stood at the table for a couple minutes until a chair could be found. The restaurant was fairly busy.
Our host gave us just one menu. We got up to ask him for two more, and he seemed a bit confused, then fetched us two more menus.
The menu consists of various kebabs, salads, and seafood. We couldn’t understand how the veggie kebab ($18) could be the same price as the filet mignon kebab. In any case, we decided and were ready to order, and that proved to be a huge problem. There were no servers in sight. We waited about ten minutes, then couldn’t take it anymore. As the host passed by, we asked about our server. He replied, “I’m not your server, but will send one your way.” He proceeds to the table of six directly next to us, and takes their order.
When he was finished, we let him know that type of service is not very professional. He didn’t seem to care very much and replied, “well, you don’t have a reservation.” If that was the case and they weren’t ready for us, they should not have seated us. There was no apology, just an annoyed attitude.
It must be embarrassing for the owners of this nicely adorned establishment to have to subject their customers to such treatment. Needless to say, we won’t be coming back.
However, we ended up at Bua (Thai) down the street and had a very pleasant meal.
