Good Food, Disappointing Atomsphere

This is the second BWW I’ve been to, the first being in Frankfort, IL. Expecting a similar experience and excited to try out the just opened location, we headed over to the Aurora store.

Upon opening the front door, we were rocked back with the wave of noise emanating from inside, but we continued in.

The greeting was performed in sign language, as was the rest of the service.

I would sum this place up as a schoolchild’s dream: a cafeteria surrounded by more TVs than can be counted in a reasonable amount of time.

Judging by the number of just-out-of-high-school age patron’s, my opinion is not mine alone.

Given the number of wait-staff on hand, the service was sluggish, but friendly.

What I ate:
  • ****

The ribs were very good, sweetish non-intrusive sauce.
The shrimp were standard popcorn style, no sauce was served with them, had to ask for some.

Received teriyaki sauce quickly, found it be heavily gingered (which I enjoyed) but somewhat salty – heavy salt seemed to be a theme in the various sauces I tried. (most notably the parmesan-garlic sauce, lots of garlic (yum), enough salt to gag a deer)

Shoestring fries and coleslaw also came with this dish, the fries were crispy and the slaw tasty, with light slaw dressing.

  • ****

Fairly standard deep fried chicken and shrimp, chicken was moist, breading was crisp, oil was fresh tasting.

  • ***

Preformed, breaded, mini ground beef patties with cheese. Served in a paper basket, with no sauce. I assume the waitperson forgot to ask?

A rather unique dish, I enjoyed these.

  • ****

My son had this, given the rate at which it disappeared, it must have been good. :)
