I ate Papaya salad and Duck “Indy Rolls” at this Thai restaurant, one among a few in the city that offer its fare in modernist cylindrical spaces that might as well feed you Nasa food in a tube of toothpaste. The Papaya Salad was crispy and sweet and spicy. The Indy rolls were sushi-like but also spring roll-like. My friend noted that Pukk was a triumph of geometry over anything else.

Pukk vegetarian Thai has the BEST lunch special in the entire east village (and trust me, I’ve tried them all). The menu is a bit more inventive than your usual Thai place, the atmosphere is is hipster-cool-thai, and the food is all great.
