Delicious. Good service. Went with a friend because the reviews were so high on Yelp. Will definitely return again. They have lovely drawings all over the walls given by children. I saw the owner give the kids additional candies! Smart business man indeed.

Best Tofu House in the South Bay

Hey, if you are seeking authentic Korean tofu soups, this is the place to go.

I tried a little BBQ, but after all this is a tofu house, so I didn’t eat too much in meat. The BBQ is definitely average or above, but the tofu is superb.

My friend had Bibimbap which was equally good, and I’d have to say you can’t go wrong ordering any tofu soup.

Sgd = So good damnit!

The restaurant is clean and bright. There’s usually a small line (10-15 min wait), but the turn around is fast. The walls are lined with children’s drawings which gives the place a friendly warm atmosphere. The service is excellent and friendly.

Your meals always come with lots of appetizer dishes (kim chee, daikon, bean sprouts, cucumber, cold soup, unidentified korean picked vegetables…), and 5 second melon gum at the end of your meal.

What can I say? Standard tofu soup! Yummy! Be sure to get your bowl medium or hot if you like spices. The mild is too bland in my opinion.

Good food, short waits, friendly service

I personally can’t tell one Tofu House on El Camino from another, but I do like this one. The thing that struck me immediately was that even though there’s always been a short wait every time I’ve been here, they take your order while you’re waiting… so as soon as you get seated, you get fed right away!

Their tofu bowls seemed pretty normal to me, but I did like their Bibimbap. Their stone pots seem much hotter than other places I’ve been to, so the rice gets much crispier than most other places. Their bowls are about medium sized, but they could definitely use a little more meat. Their side dishes are just ok — regular kimchee, bean sprouts, spicy daikon, zucchini, and maybe a couple of other things.

The menu itself is pretty limited, but I rarely order anything else at Korean restaurants anyway. They had a variety of tofu bowls (beef, seafood, combo), three kinds of bibimbap, three kinds of BBQ meats, and arrowroot noodles. Don’t come here if you have a craving for anything else.

Overall, good food, a pretty good value, a solid Korean restaurant.

Can't go wrong with Korean BBQ

This cheerful little tofu house sits among the many other Korean restaurants along El Camino. One thing that sets this place apart is the super friendly staff.

If there’s a wait for a table, they’ll actually take your order while you’re waiting so that when you sit down they’ll only need to verify your order before they start bringing out the food. It just makes things move a little more efficiently.

They had actually gotten my order wrong. I either told them the wrong dish or something was lost in translation, but nonetheless the waitress was more than happy to replace it; no questions asked.

The wallpaper is basically made up of children’s drawings taped to the wall. Some are drawings of the restaurant itself and some are just completely random but completely entertaining.

Tofu soup? BBQ pork? Try them here. Pretty good!

I think this is one of those great places to eat for what you pay. It’s very affordable, and there’s no way you will leave here hungry.

The man who I think is the owner is very nice and funny. He jokes around a bit and makes sure that you’re having a good meal.

It’s not that big of a place, but people seem to go in and out fairly quickly. Try it out if you have a chance!

Tofu soup is very filling. Comes with a bowl of rice, a tofu soup bowl, and all those typical Korean dishes.

  • *****

It looks spicy (because of the color), but it’s actually not at all. Very good and worth trying!

Good on a cold day

When I first started coming here, they only served tofu soup and a few bbq dishes, but now they’ve expanded a bit more.

I’ve tried the bibimbap, but wasn’t too impressed. I’m going to stick with the tofu soups. They’re always served fairly quickly, and pretty spicy if you ask for it.

One of the staff, I think he’s the owner, is super enthusiastic and very friendly. I’ve seen him give candies to kids before, and the last time I went there, he gave me a lollipop.
