go there all the time when i want pizza. There stuffed crusted pizza is delicious.
When i do take out, their usually timely and sweet.
When I eat in, its usually kinda crowded. I must admit i think it took a while for the food to arrive, which isnt unusual for most pizza joints, but not as long as it took us for a simple cheese pizza. other then the time, the service is great and the waiter was real sweet.

Best cheese, great pizza

I’m typically not a deep dish/stuffed pizza fan. I like toppings, I don’t like too much crust, and I really dislike pizzas with too much sauce. I really only ventured into Giordano’s to try the pizza b/c I was in Chicago for my first time, and it was just something I HAD to try.

That being said, I loved it! I’m not a deep dish connoisseur, so if you are, take my 5 star rating with a grain of salt… but since I’m a thin crust girl and came out of Giordano’s happy, I think that earns a 5 star rating.

The one thing that really did it for me on this pizza was the cheese. It was the best cheese I’ve had on a pizza ever. EVER. It was not greasy at all, which is something I’ve only ever experienced at a pizzeria in NYC. I had a stomacheache when I ate here and really didn’t feel like eating much at all, but I couldn’t stop eating the cheese off the pizza (which probably just made it worse). But I think the reason I still enjoyed this pizza despite my usually dislike for deep dish is b/c the cheese was so thick, dense, and plentiful, the sauce ratio wasn’t overwhelming.

The one thing I think could have been better is that they didn’t really offer an all meat pizza. I like my pizzas with meat. Lots of meat. And then maybe some mushrooms and onions, but I like meat to be the dominant ingredient. I ordered some kind of supreme pizza or something that had a variety of toppings, and the sausage content was really light (but the bell pepper content was really heavy). I would have liked more sausage! and pepperoni for that matter. but the pizza was still good.

What I ate:

Probably as good of a stuffed pizza as I’ll ever eat.

Ok sandwiches

Giordano’s is known for its pizza, but I couldn’t motivate myself to order a heavy pizza for lunch. Instead I opted for a meatball sandwich. The sandwich prices aren’t bad for a sit-down establishment (~$7). The service is very friendly and if you go a bit after lunch hour (1pm) there’s tons of seating and no wait. This location is at the base of Prudential Plaza so I’d hate to see how busy it gets during peak lunch times.

Meatballs were pretty good, but the bread didn’t seem super fresh. I was able to get it with a caesar salad to feel a bit healthier.

Extras:
I came here for
a business meeting
My meal cost
less than $10
I tipped
more than 18%
